Foul, fie, and filth!

What would the Duke of Windsor say?
Personally, I think Chuck should abdicate, but not until Wills has completed his term in one of the Regiments.

"What would the Duke of Windsor say?"
I've been wondering that myself - but I dont think it's a 'surprise', per se that they decided to marry.
The timing is good, the circumstances are good, and as it's been stated she won't be Queen, the people would be more likely to be accepting of it.

True, that.

I'm still pulling for Queen Bessie to live long enough for Wills to finish a tour, and then C abdicates . . .
And for Labour to be re-elected . . .

Well seeing as she's been his consort since before diana and apparently through, it seems an appropriate title

'Princess Consort' is the Most Polite Term 4 'Whore'

that's one of the first things I thought.

Imagine if they have kids together tho...
It'll be like Battle of the Network Stars; where Harry and William are like ABC and "Giles"[1] and "Euclid" are like CBS. :)

______________
[1]FTR, I have a cousin named Giles, and that was also my Great Grandmother's maiden name... but given the imagery of the TWO of them having kids... Giles and Euclid seem appropriate. :)

First, he's going to drop before he ever becomes king. It's his own fault for being born to the world's oldest woman. And I love her to death.

And since when didn't Consort = whore.
I can see Liz now, giggling with some of her Queenie (and I DO MEAN queens!)friends.
"So I said, Chuck, She's NOT going to be come queen, and I threw out all these titles. Pricess Slut, the Whorebag of the King, stuff like that. He almost POPPED. I mean ok, Princess Consort, but who's going to be fooled by that? I might as well go up on stage and say "hey, she's a complete WHORE!" Isn't that NEAT! Bubbles, get me another cosmo!"

I'm on a roll this morning. *grins*

If he became king, Charles would be the supreme governor of the Church of England and some Anglicans remain opposed to the remarriage of divorcees.

I find this particularly funny... wasn't the Church of England founded because the King wanted a divorce and to remarry and went against the RC Church?

[Ed McMahon voice]You Are Correct Sir!!![/EMV]

I dont remember if Charles specifically is still CofE - not that it matters anyway; he's like, an heir to the throne. :)

Rules? WHAT RULES? :)

Consort. Wow. That just doesn't sound very "Royal" does it? I mean, even concubine sounds better, or at least sexier.

I was a bit off... I watched the video to make sure. Its from The Young Ones (episode title "Nasty")

CAPTAIN: [to a woman who was out of view] Aged and toothless and bent old crone!

CRONE: How'd you know me name?

CAPTAIN: We wish to engage you as ship's cook and concubine.

CRONE: Oh yeah? What's a concubine, then?

CAPTAIN: It's a small, spiky mammal.

CRONE: No... that's a hedgehog!

CAPTAIN: In that case we wish to engage you as ship's cook and hedgehog.
