Pens and special paper for 'the big day': $415.00
A new tie for 'the big day': $125.00

Making sure your message is seen by millions, and not cut off in the middle of a live video feed: Priceless.

OMFG. The reason I watch three channels during events like ths, is to see if the feed, camera angles, etc are consistent; how much of a lag there is, etc.

I don't know if people outside of Providence saw this, but, during part of Pres. Bush's rebuttal (approx. 9:15pm EST), the live feed on Fox _froze_. For nearly a minute. I switched over to NBC, where it was continued while Fox was still frozen - THEN NBC showed the ghosted call sign for _CBS_ for four seconds. Fox then got their feed back, then lost it again, showing _Doppler Radar_ for about 10 seconds.
Holy Christ.

"Media coverage", indeed.
I'm so friggen amazed right now at the poor execution of such a major event, that I have found it difficult to pay close attention to most of the rest of it thus far.

I certainly HOPE SOMEONE is getting fired.

This is a link for the Transcript from the Washington Post; or email me for the full text.

ps - The Daily Show coverage of post-debate is AWESOME.
Jon Stewart referred to Lehrer as "a Hummel figurine", and had Fmr. Gen. Wesley Clarke on for commentary.
