new music - Dir en grey (Japanese metal)
Sep. 28th, 2004 03:45 pmMy friend mechanachor introduced me to "Die en grey" - it's a Japanese metal band.
The song he emailed me, "Obscure (DVD ver.)" sounds like a combo of Ministry, Ohgr, and if Geoff Tate sang in Japanese.
Not bad, tho I liked some parts better than others.
The email copy of the song is saved in my iTunes playlist; but I dont know how to send music files in iTues (as I rarely listen to music online) or how to save the song as a link in lj, so if YOU do, comment here and I can share it, in the event it isnt available on the website.
Today, he gave me the link to their website, which, under the profile section, has the following:
"Formed in 1997 with the sole purpose to spread the feelings of hurt and sorrow people face caused by weakness, shallowness and egoism of humans.
Since then, their grotesque ways, their warped affection, and their crazy live shows took the independent record scene by a storm, putting them on the very top....
...When they first formed, their expressions of pain came from struggling and writhe, hiding inside the feelings of hurt and suffering. But as time passed, their pain became not only an expression but also a message.
From their unstable beginning, the band itself has gone through many changes and revolutions. Now it is clear that the music is their tool to send out their message.
They are the only Japanese in the world that has dealt with tremendous hurt and sorrow.
Until the day comes where there is no more hurt in this world, Dir en grey will carry the emotions of hurt and sorrow in their music, and they will continue to scream."
Language translations are always priceless. :)
