From boston.com:
The FleetCenter will have a new name on Wednesday: Golden Palace.comCenter. But it's just for the day.
"The Antigua-based online casino operator won an eBay auction for one-day naming rights with a bid of $35,099 on Tuesday."
----------
Honestly, I don't know if I find this deplorable, retarded, or what.
I mean, I understand the want for major corporations to get their name out there, especially on something as 'renown' as that particular building, and the Boston Garden hasnt been the Boston Garden due to all the name changes in forever; but I can bet you ANYTHING that if this was tried with Madison Square Garden - calling it "AirFrance Garden" or "NBC Garden", for instance - it'd last about two minutes before all those New Yorkers started rioting until things were put back the way they were.
In other words, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
