the little conversations....

He'd been hella curious to see what I looked like recently, as he'd gotten back in touch with me to tell me about his mom being in the hospital.
It was a strange conversation... (I'm "L")
(He lives in FLA, hence all the tan jokes. :))

l: not much - where are you? day off?
Y: home...I'm on VACATION this week
l: nice.
l: so what are you doing on vacation?
l: getting a suntan, i bet. *snarf*
l: go ahead... tell me it's cold down there.
Y: going for a bike ride .just put new tires on my bike sat ...time to break them in :-) its about 79 here :-)
l: what do you have now? I know you dont have the 1200 anymore.
Y: I have a kawasaki ninja 900
l: NICE.
Y: did you get my picture?
l: yes - heheh. I'm presently looking for a picture of me to send to you.... they all suck
Y: well what do you think?
l: looking good.
l: you remind me of a friend of mine here - if he wore glasses.
Y: is that good?
l: yes. I used to date said friend. :-) is good.
l: ok - this is all I can find so far...
l: probably sucks as a photo, but at least you can see me...I'm the one in the middle. and my current SO is to my left.
Y: WHAT HAPPEND TO YOUR HAIR?
l: It was shorter then... it's growing back now... about shoulder length.
l: trust me, you're not the only one that missed it. it was fried and had to go.
Y: ITS NOT BLOND
l: yeah - it's been red for YEARS.
l: overall, what do you think?
l: do I look vastly different? (honestly, I know I do...:-))
l: you dont like the hair, do you?
Y: I did like the blond look with you ..brought your eyes out more
l: everyone else seems to think the red looks more natural with my skin tone. so *neener neener neener*
Y: well now i can't very well see your skin tone is like now so...:-)~~~~
l: all the trouble I'm going thru for you.... and you're being an ass *laff*
Y: hehehe, did I tell you everone at VW was asking about you when i was there in Sept?
l: heh. nope. what did they say?
Y: they all asked if i had seen you laely what you were doing, ect

Y: you know all the typical stuff
l: did anyone think we were still together?
Y: I told them we were still sex partners and I was on my way to a torrid affair with you :-)
l: you forgot about the whirlwind trip to Mexico, Budapest, Shreveport and Newark. :-)
Y: didn't need to get into details about those trips...
l: yeah, only b/c you had all the travellers checks and the film too. asshole. :-)
Y: but you kept the vidio and the suit case full of "toys"

The last time i talked to him, by phone, he sounded vaguely disappointed that I changed. It's kinda funny - he really hasnt seemed to change at all. Just longer hair, and living in another state. I dont feel sorry for him, or wish that I'd not changed, but it was just funny during the converation, trying to determine what photos I should show him, from where, thinking how he'd react if he knew what I was up to these days... not that I am that different overall about 'certain' things - it's just until moving here, I never discussed them with anyone, or knew anyone that did the same things I did, or knew people that didnt think I was whacked outta my mind. :) I liked my old friends for who they were, but I like my friends here because they like me for who I am. That make any sense? :) When I was home for Christmas, t was the first time in a long long time that I really missed anyone, friend-wise. Some, more than others, of course, but I really jsut wanted to be "home". As other people have said before, Boston is where my family is.

heh. was just thinking about my Crow CD, which should be replaced, as it's skipping so much... I havent listened to it in a long time, and had it on during the ride back fom Andover... now i have this going thru my head...
