history.

Today is the 50th Anniversary of Brown v. Board of education, the case that banned segregation in schools.

Today is also the first full day that same sex couples can be legally married (by the state) in Massachusetts.

For those people going to school today, regardless of skin color,
for those people getting married today, regardless of sexual orientation,

May you have a great day today.

good day.

-Going to a wedding/reception tonight.
-Watching a friend's college graduation online.
-Have heard that my home state might not be far behind on the gay marraige laws...

yay.

best thing about today...

...was hearing the words in person of: "and by the power vested in me by the power of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts...."

I've been to at _least_ 20-40 weddings in my lifetime, if not more; and been IN 15 of them.

This one wasnt the biggest.
This one wasnt the most expensive.
This one wasnt the biggest guest list.

This was probably one of the most memorable.

Congratulations to everyone that got a little closer to living the life they wanted today. May you have a long, happy and prosperous life together.

tomorrow I go back to bitching about work, I promise. *grin*.
